Your State of Mind

Freedom of speech, of thought, of expression, of choice, … So many freedoms, but perhaps the only freedom truly worth having is a FREE MIND. In his book “Man’s Search for Meaning,” Viktor Frankly writes that ‘everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.’ Never stop asking questions about LIFE and allow your understanding to grow continuously. Before accepting beliefs from others, turn them over to your heart (your subconscious mind) for scrutiny. Too many people today are ready to hand over this most precious of freedoms to just about anyone who will make them feel better.

Negative vs. Positive State of Mind

It is thanks to our reasoning faculty that we can choose our thoughts: we can choose to focus on the positive or the negative of any situation. When we let our outside world control us and we see that, for example, we haven’t got enough money to meet our needs, we start to worry. When we worry a lot, we impress this feeling upon our subconscious mind. This turns into fear: fear of failure/loss, fear of not being able to fulfill our financial obligations. Fear is expressed in the physical body as anxiety. Now people don’t express anxiety, they suppress it and it turns into depression. When depression is not treated, it evolves into dis-ease, which, if we stay in that negative vibration, results in the disintegration (death) of the physical body.

To turn this situation around, we need to develop understanding. There’s only one way to develop understanding and that’s through study. Now the study turns into faith because it gives us the ability to choose positive thoughts: we may not be able to see how we are going to achieve our dream or goal, but we know that if we stay focused and get emotionally involved with the idea, we will move into a good vibration and begin to attract what we need. Then we begin to feel great. This state of well-being is not suppressed, it is expressed. When you are in this good place you have a speed and lightness in your step. You accelerate everything. This is because there is no dis-ease: you are at ease. You are involved in the creation of the life you really want to lead.

So which state of mind will you choose: the negative state or the positive state?
